From the research
KPV is just three amino acids: lysine, proline and valine. It's the tail end of alpha-MSH, a molecule your body already makes, and researchers study it as a tiny piece that keeps some of the parent molecule's activity.
KPV has been researched for its role in inflammation in lab and animal studies, looking at the signals cells use to turn inflammation up, the body's first response to stress and irritation.
Researchers have looked at KPV's role in skin and barrier comfort, the outer layer that keeps moisture in and irritants out.
Its small size is one reason KPV has been studied in creams and other topical formulas. It works where you apply it: yours goes right where your clinician directs, with no needles.
Based on published research, much of it in lab and animal studies. Individual results vary. KPV is not FDA-approved for any use, and compounded medications have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety or effectiveness.

KPV is a peptide, a very short chain of just three amino acids: lysine, proline and valine. It's the tail end of alpha-MSH, a molecule the body makes naturally. It has been researched for its role in inflammation in lab and animal studies, and for skin and barrier comfort. At Bon it is prescribed by a licensed clinician and compounded by a licensed U.S. pharmacy as a topical cream.
No. Compounded drugs, including compounded KPV Cream, are not FDA-approved. They are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for an individual patient with a prescription.
In October 2026, HHS announced an interim policy (Federal Register 2026-22192) saying it won't take enforcement action against state-licensed pharmacies compounding certain peptides, including KPV as a topical applied to the skin, for individual patients when strict conditions are met. This is not FDA approval, and it may change. State rules can differ.
Wash and dry the area your clinician points you to. Press the pump, smooth a thin layer onto the skin until it sinks in, then wash your hands. Keep it away from your eyes, mouth and any broken skin. If you use other skin care, put KPV on first, then your moisturizer or sunscreen, and tell your clinician about any prescription skin products or strong actives like retinoids or acids. Your clinician sets how much to use and how often, and can adjust it at check-ins.
Research-chemical sites sell powder labeled 'for research only,' with no prescription and no clinician, and leave you to mix it yourself. Bon's KPV is prescribed for you, compounded by name in a licensed U.S. pharmacy from tested ingredients, and shipped as a ready-to-use cream.
Many people ask about both, since they sit in the same recovery category. Adding BPC-157 means a separate prescription. Your clinician reviews each one and decides if it's right for you.
KPV hasn't been studied in people, so safety data is limited. Possible effects are skin redness, itching, irritation, or an allergic reaction. Patch-test first on a small area. Don't use it on broken or infected skin. Stop and message your care team if you notice a rash, swelling or any sign of an allergic reaction. It's not for anyone pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18. Tell your clinician about all medications and conditions.
KPV isn't named on the WADA list, but unapproved substances like it fall under S0, which is banned at all times. Starting in 2027 the list names peptides in that group. Using it on the skin doesn't make it exempt. If you're drug-tested, check with your anti-doping body first.
If your clinician decides KPV Cream is not right for you, you get a full refund.
